Interested in starting a School Based Enterprise? This session will teach you everything you need to know, start to finish, to begin the operation of an apparel decorating business within your school. Learn about necessary equipment, vendors, managing the classroom, common problems and their solutions, and more! Content can be used to teach a full year course or can be implemented into a club like FBLA, DECA, FCCLA, etc. Tricia Campbell has implemented this course at two schools and has taught over 400 other educators across the US how to do so in their schools.
With the renewed importance of a fully integrated academic and CTE programming for all students driven by the ISBE College and Career Pathway Endorsements, participants learn about the best practices in integrated lesson design to bring back to their school district to help support teachers of all trades in making school-wide CTE a reality. Using ACTE’s “Synergizing Success: Academics and Career Integration for CTE,” participants will learn practical planning strategies for team-based challenges and learn to develop career-focused lesson plans that empower students to make informed decisions about their education based on their interests, strengths, and aspirations.
Hear from two Education for Employment (EFE's) regions on how they developed a process on how to conduct a school program evaluation. Learn what is needed from your school districts, tips & tricks to look for in IWAS, and what formula is needed to maximize grant funds. This program evaluation is a great way to set aside time to meet one on one with your schools, build relationships, and promote their CTE programs. Always remember, each school district is unique and not a "one size fits most" district. Not only can you use this process to generate funds but also to establish lasting relationships.
