Mapping Careers: High School Students Host a Junior High Career Expo" is an engaging event designed to inspire and inform junior high students about potential career paths. High school students take the lead in organizing and facilitating the expo, showcasing various professions through interactive displays, presentations, and hands-on activities. This has all the WBL students involved, the dual credit welders, the dual credit CNA, the dual credit EMT, & Fire Science, and the Construction Students This allows younger students to explore diverse careers and jobs at the high school level, but also empowers high schoolers to develop leadership and communication skills. We completed this at a local grade school and showcased classes in high school, career based programs in the high school, and jobs held by the WBL Students. By connecting the two age groups, the event fosters mentorship, curiosity, and a greater understanding of the education and skills needed for future careers.
