This CAD/CAM session will be taught by Mark Smith, an instructor with 30 years of experience, teaching CAD/CAM at the secondary and post-secondary levels with a view towards the wood manufacturing industry. As an educator, you may be aware of the push for student-driven or student-centered learning. What is student-driven learning? Using a technology enabled environment, student-driven learning can mean lectures are complemented or replaced with active learning strategies and learning guidance, rather than memorization, to engage the student and improve learning, enable knowledge retention, and elevate achievement. And while, adhering to Bloom’s Taxonomy-remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create. All of this without compromising student success and safety. Geometry creation from a student selected image will be demonstrated as well as how to clean up the geometry before and after it is imported into CAM program. The software programs that the presenter will use is available for free download. You will also receive all the tutorial videos the instructor uses in class, A fully developed AutoCAD curriculum, and over 100 student created ready to machine designs, and four long board designs.
